The 25th of November saw Photoion host their inspiring Fashion Photography Masterclass. This intimate Fashion Photography Masterclass teaches students how to make the very most out of their studio lighting equipment through hands-on practical demonstrations and us it in fashion photography creatively. Students are given the tools to set their imaginations free, learning how to get the very most from their camera and lighting equipment, as well as shot composition and interaction with models.
For this session we were lucky enough to be joined by beautiful and energetic model Catherine. Catherine is a London based professional model who’s striking features and gorgeous blue eyes can be used to stunning effect in the right hands, and professional photographer and Photoion founder Ion Paciu was on hand to help the students capture her beauty.
The masterclass began as all good photo shoots do with the make-up. Students watched in awe as make up artist extraordinaire Fanny Burgos worked her magic on Catherine. Fanny is a free lance make-up artist and hair stylist who is highly experienced, working across fashion catalogues, catwalks, photo shoots, advertisements and even TV and Film.
The outfits and props are ready…
Once the shoot began Ion demonstrated the art of directing a model and taught students how to visualise and eventually realise a fantastic fashion portrait shot. A whole host of lighting equipment was provided by Photoion along with a wireless transmitter and a selection of backgrounds and props. Students could even borrow from Photoion’s extensive range of professional lenses if they did not possess the right lens for their shot.
As always with Ion’s inspirational and unpredictable workshops the day took an exciting twist when he noticed a local veteran in uniform visiting the Union Jack Club, the club in which the workshop was taking place.
