Photo of the Month Competition: April 2016

Photo of the Month Competition: April 2016

It’s time for another Photo of the Month CompetitionEach month we hold a competition with a different theme to give photographers a chance of winning £100 in Photoion course vouchers.

As Spring has finally sprung, this month’s theme will be Wildlife Photography.

We’ve got some basic tips to help you take the best pictures possible:

  • Patience is perhaps your most important asset in capture good wildlife photographs. Choose an area where the animals are likely to be – near a food or water source is a great choice – and wait.
  • If possible, arrange your scene so that the animal has to go into your frame. For example; with birds you could set your frame over a birdfeeder. Aiming your camera and adjusting settings ahead of time will ensure the ideal conditions for your image, and will help you take the picture faster.
  • If possible, set yourself up at a distance from your subject area so that you don’t disturb any potential subjects with your presence.
