We are delighted to announce the launch of the Photoion Photography School Photo of the Month Competition.
Each and every month we will set a theme and host a competition for you to share your best images, to be in with a chance of winning £100 of Photoion vouchers. Once the competition closes we will select a winner to redeem their vouchers against any of our photography courses.
We couldn’t resist when selecting the theme for our very first competition this December which will be Christmas. We want you to capture the essence of Christmas in a single shot. This could be anything from a crisp snowy morning, festive adornments, the joy and happiness shared between loved ones or the hard work that goes into preparing for the big day.
As this will be a monthly competition we will be introducing a new theme each month to challenge your technique and showcase your best work, so keep checking on here for competition themes.
A few top tips from us for capturing your Christmas photos.
- Lighting – Keep in mind where the light is coming from and speculate any available sources of light including any windows, lamps, the Christmas tree lights, etc.
- Christmas Morning – you will only get one chance to capture the kids unwrapping presents, it happens so fast at the crack of dawn. Make sure you have the basics covered such as:
- Battery is fully charged
- Memory card is clear
- We recommend you to do reccie before, take some test shots and get your camera and your flash ready for the big event.
- Capture more than just the obvious – some of the smaller elements of Christmas can be the most striking so don’t forget to get close to capture the little things that make up Christmas.
