Photo of the Month Competition: June 2016

Photo of the Month Competition: June 2016

It’s time for another Photo of the Month competition! Every month we hold a competition with a different theme for photographers to take different pictures with the chance of winning £100 in Photoion course vouchers. The competition is open to everyone.

This month’s topic will be Cityscape Photography.

Here are a few tips to help you take the best images possible:

– Experiment with the time of day; the city can look vastly different depending on the time of day you capture your image.
– Explore different exposure times. This is particularly effective at night for tracking the movement of the lights in the dark.
– Take your images from a variety of heights. You can produce a wide range of images just by changing the height at which you take your photo. Try capturing images of the same location from different heights.
– Use the weather to your advantage. Weather changes the look of the city more than anything else. Try and capture a variety of images with different weather, such as mist or rain.

How to enter

To enter the Photoion Photo of the Month competition, and to be in with a chance of winning the £100 in course vouchers, submit your best image capturing Cityscape using the form below. Images should be in JPEG format, and no smaller than 1000 pixels on their widest side. Only one entry per month, per person is accepted.

Entry opens on Wednesday 1st June 2016 and closes Thursday 23:59 30th June 2016.

The winning entry will be selected by a panel of Photoion Photography School judges. Judges decision is final.

By entering you agree to our full terms and conditions.

We’re looking forward to seeing the images of your city!
Happy shooting.
