Photo of the Month Competition: March 2016

Photo of the Month Competition: March 2016

Hello Photoion Students and fans. It’s time for another Photo of the Month Competition.

Every month we have a competition with a different theme for photographers to take images with the chance of winning £100 in Photoion course vouchers. It’s a great excuse to get outside and taking pictures, and gives you the chance of winning that great prize.

With spring starting this month, we thought that March’s topic should be Flower Photography.

Here are a few basic tips to help you along the way:

  • Try taking pictures from multiple perspectives. Flowers come in a variety of interesting shapes, and changing the angle from which you photograph them can make a hug difference.
  • One of the best ways to photography single flowers is by isolating them, and keeping only them in focus.
  • Keep it steady! When photographing something as small as a flower, the chances are that you’ll be very close to the subject, which means any shaking of the camera will be a problem. Be sure to use a tripod and timer for the best effect!
  • You can find more essential tips for flower photography following this link.
