Hello Photoion students and photography fans, it is time again for another Student of the Month interview.
Each month we pick one of our students who has shown great promise and we sit down with them to learn about how they got started with photography and how they’ve found the art so far.
The winner also gets a £50 voucher that can be redeemed against any of our courses.
This month we spoke with Yiltan Ahmet about their journey.
I began taking photos when I got my first Motorola camera phone back in 2004. From that day, I was fascinated with photography. After I graduated from drama school in 2012, I was auditioning for acting work and working in my normal job, but I wanted to earn a living doing something creative in between auditions and when there wasn’t any acting work.
I came across Photoion Photography School at the end of 2016 and enrolled on the schools long-term course. Upon enrolment, I decided that I would major in headshot photography for actors. At first, I was reluctant on pursuing a career in photography because I assumed you needed a big expensive DSLR however, THIS ISN’T TRUE and I changed my opinion thanks to Ion. He helped me save thousands of pounds in the process!
As well as majoring in portrait photography at the School, I have explored and furthered my skills in many genres of photography, such as wildlife, studio light, and night photography, and I’m continuing to develop my skills further with more of the schools workshops on offer.
Thank you to Ion, Tatiana, and Photoion Photography School for everything you have taught me and for helping me kick-start my photography career.
