Each month, we take one student who has particularly impressed us at Photoion Photography School and crown them our Student of the Month! The winner also gets a £50 voucher to be redeemed against any of our courses.

The July’s winner is David Lange.

Here’s what he has to say about his photography journey so far and the experience he had taking our photography courses. Over to you, David!

I’ve been interested in taking photos all my life and have a camera of some sort since I was a teenager.

However, it’s only in the last ten years or so that I’ve had the time to pursue my passion, and even more so in the last five years, when I invested in better equipment.

My main interests are architecture, (the uglier and more run down the better), transport, (I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to ships), and landscape.

More recently I decided that I needed a more technical approach to my work in order to try and improve the quality of my photos, (one in a couple of hundred comes out good), I’m hoping the odds will be stronger in the future. I chose Photoion after attending your annual book review and talking to all the students a staff alike, all of whom had such a positive and enthusiastic approach it really sold me on the studio – which subsequently materialised in reality when I started attending Photoion’s courses.

I’m now eager to start practicing what I’ve learnt so far, and start producing some quality pictures thanks to Photoion’s instruction and advise.
