Today we are proud to announce the winners of the Photoion Photography Awards 2014.

We ran the Photoion Awards 2014 Competition to all our students towards the end of last year and gave all our students the opportunity to send in up to 8 images.

We set out to choose a total of 50 images to be placed into our Awards book, and have received so many great entries. It’s always difficult to pick the winners when the quality of entries is so high, but this year was particularly challenging. In the end, we just couldn’t narrow it down to the 50, and ended up putting 53 images into the book. This goes to show the level of quality that our students have achieved, which is just excellent.

So, who are this year’s top three winners?

In 1st place, with her stunning, “Raindrops on a Spider’s Web”, is Nageen Nasir. Nageen’s first real attempt at photography was on our beginner’s course just a few years ago, so to see her come so far in such a short time is a real delight. She has won a £400 voucher to redeem against any of our courses, as well as a set of Cokin Graduated landscape filters with adapter rings.

Highly commended images by the Judges:

Autumn mist by Adam Young. This shot was made one early autumn morning on “Pitch Hill” in Surrey. I was hoping for a spectacular sunrise but the mist ruled that out. It did however create a great atmospheric setting with the trees and ferns.
